April Meeting- Brew Day & Wort Rally at Roets Jordan Brewery Co
April 29th, 2017, 11AM-5PM
Our good friend and former PFer Tim Roets of Roets Brewery is going to host the Primary Fermenters for a brew day on his professional rig!
Tim has offered to let us hang out in his brewery and brew a batch of beer with him and then take the wort home, for free! We'll add water to grain beginning at 11 am and have groups of five rotate in and out of the brewery to lend a helping hand.
During the day Tim and the Roets crew will have beer and food available for purchase in the tap room. Since the taproom will be open to the public we can't share homebrew upstairs but feel free to bring and consume homebrew downstairs in the basement/brewery area.
June- American Homebrew Association NHC Festivities!
June 15-17 at the Minneapolis Convention Center
The annual AHA National Homebrew Convention will be held in MN this year, which means that the PF crew will be taking the Minneapolis Convention Center by storm to represent our club! Homebrewers will travel here from across the country to take in seminars and lectures and there will be lots of great beer to be had.
We will be brewing homebrews to share at a "Club Hospitality Night" and will be constructing a booth to represent the PF Club. For more details, contact our email address!
July- Beer Judging Training
We will be meeting at a local brewery to do some beer judging training in preparation for the MN State Fair Competition coming up in August. We'll be talking about the appearance, aroma, and flavor of beer and how to accurately judge homebrews during a homebrew competition. This is always a fun and illuminating event and will surely make you a better homebrewer. Hope to see you there!
August- MN State Fair Competition
August 18-19th at the Summit Brewery events center
Our Primary Fermenters club organizes and executes the MN State Fair Homebrew Competition annually. We will collect and categorize all of the homebrew entries and will judge all of the beers along with our good friends from other MN clubs in a whirlwind weekend of beer judging. If you are thinking of getting involved in a PF event and becoming a member, this is an incredible opportunity to do so- everyone is welcome, regardless of 'experience' (or lack thereof), and it is always a fun event! See you there!!!
